Winter Wrap-Up: Ximena Benavente, Marketing Chair

Ximena escaped New York winter to Florida. After Christmas, she spent two weeks in the fabulous beaches of Puerto Rico and Curacao. There she spent quality time with her family as they celebrated her parent’s 25th year wedding anniversary. She then jetted back home to Ecuador for 10 days and indulged in great food and relaxation.

During break, she and fellow SIBD Board Member Molly Fearn prepared and received grants to conduct research in Peru to explore ways to trade and internationalize some of Peru’s native staple foods.

How did you spend your winter break?

Through the break, Xenia defended her Capstone project and went home to Mexico for a few days to celebrate with her family! She received the New Year back in the Northeast, where she since spent most of her days indulging in reading, winter jogging, sleeping and sightseeing as she prepares to jump back into real life starting a new job at the end of this month.

In the picture, a fun and windy ferry ride from Jersey Shore back to NYC in late December.

How did you spend your winter break?

Ashley spent her winter break exploring the streets of Madrid. She took it upon herself to test every type of tapa available. In between site seeing and street noshing, she started working on her thesis for graduation this spring.

How did you spend your winter break?

Chloe was traveling through India with the Two Worlds of India Global Field Intensive. The course focused on the impact of the economic liberalization enacted in 1991. We met to discuss governance issues with a variety of prestigious actors ranging from Ms. Meenakshi Natarajan M.P. to Ms. Meera Sanyal who is the Chairperson and Country Executive for ABN AMRO / RBS Bank India. While in Mumbai, Chloe also presented on the US Regulatory Landscape for Business Continuity Management at the premier DRI India Conference (Picture).

How did you spend your winter break?

Molly chose to spend her winter vacation in a place much warmer than NYC. She visited family and friends in Mexico City, exploring the cultural attractions of el Distrito Federal and studying the art of tequila drinking. In the photo Molly and her mother pose as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera at the Mexican artists’ home-turned-museum, Casa Azul.
